Difficulty linking symbols to specific sounds, or auditory information transcribed into written form. Each type of stimulus (verbal, kinesthetic, or visual) has its own workflow in a way so that words that are not phonetic become challenging, as do letter combinations that spell multiple words (dog, & god; never and nerve) distorting the meaning of a sentence even if the correct word is spoken.
